GOQUO’S ‘SPECTACULAR SUCCESS’ AT WTM 06
- wins WTM technology award for dynamic packaging –
- secures £¼ million of new business -

November 2006 – Fast-growing online technology solutions
specialist GoQuo (www.goquo.com) reports that its first-ever
appearance at the 2006 World Travel Market was ‘a spectacular
success’, winning a major technology award and securing at least
£250,000 of new business at the show.
GoQuo,
created by founder and managing director Ron Ramanan just three
years ago to provide the travel trade with value-packed online
technology solutions, won the Dynamic Packaging Tools Online
category in the WTM / travelmole technology awards. There were
over 1,000 nominations across the 14 award categories.
Six
Confirmed New Customers
During WTM 06, the GoQuo team secured at least six new
customers – travel agency and consolidator businesses in the UK,
Canada, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and India – which will
deliver around £250,000 in new revenue for GoQuo. The team even
had to draft contracts on display PCs on the stand because new
clients wanted to finalise deals there and then.
Chosen
By Malaysia’s Biggest TMC
Just before WTM opened, GoQuo announced that its technology
solutions had been chosen by Holiday Tours & Travel, Malaysia’s
biggest travel management company, and with a growing presence
in the travel leisure market. This significant win came just
weeks after GoQuo opened a new regional office in Kuala Lumpur,
part of its growth strategy which is targeting the Far East and
Asia travel markets.
Ramanan
said GoQuo’s decision to attend WTM for the first time had
brought the company wider recognition for its GQAgent, GQDynamic
and GQConsol online technology solutions. They enable travel
agents and consolidators to maximise the revenue potential of
their web sites or intranet / extranet services, and GoQuo’s
proposition of technology affordability, efficiency and
customisation has seen it increase its customer base by over
400% in the last year.
Spectacular Success
“It’s been a spectacular success for us,” commented Ramanan,
“and far exceeded our expectations. Winning the technology award
was a superb bonus as it shows that the industry is recognising
the value that GoQuo delivers. More important was winning at
least half a dozen new clients, as that helps fuel the business,
and I’m pretty sure we’ll be finalising agreements with more
agents in the next few weeks.”
He added
that three years ago, he walked around WTM as a visitor and
decided that one day, he would be exhibiting there – ‘now I’ve
got WTM 2007 in my sights’.
